Back home and it's cold outside, and I have lots of work to do, so didn't go anywhere interesting for the picture.

Monday #101: Chicago, United States
November 29, 2010 at the Western Ave. El train platform in Chicago.
Spent almost a week in Chicago for the Thanksgiving holidays. Loved the shot from the end of the platform here, but couldn't see it with the light coming in from behind.

Monday #100: Washington, D.C., United States
On R Street NW in Washington, D.C.
It has been 100 weeks since I shaved my head. At this point I just have a pretty decent length of hair that doesn't seem unusual to most people.

Monday #97: Panama City, Panama
November 1, 2010 on Via Argentina in Panama City, Panama.
After a nice dinner at Manolo's. Arrived this afternoon and haven't done much yet. Visited Briga (CrossFit gym in Panama City) and got dinner. Met Carlos the Colombian gay guy staying in the girl's room at the hostel.
This was supposed to be a trip to celebrate finishing my comps, and although my defense was delayed, I did finish the exams and I'm going to celebrate it.

Monday #92: Washington, D.C., United States
September 27, 2010 at home in Washington, D.C. watching the Bears on Monday Night Football... and former Michigan star Charles Woodson of the Packers tackling a Chicago receiver.
It is much harder to take a picture of a football game than I had predicted.
This weekend did our gym's fundraising workout, "Fight Gone Bad" on Saturday, then a sprint triathlon Sunday. Felt surprisingly good, but tired. Didn't do much physical stuff today. Start my second comp exam tomorrow!

Thought it was time for another Monday photo with glasses. Haven't seen them since Monday #10. Way too long.
Start comprehensive exams for my Ph.D. tomorrow. One of those things that seems like it should feel big, and for whatever reason, doesn't feel that big.

Monday #90: Washington, D.C., United States
September 13, 2010 at my house in Washington, D.C.
Although I've been able to get my hair into a little ponytail for a few weeks now, thought it was time to get a picture of it.
I've been back in D.C. for a little over a week now. In some ways I was worried about coming back to the city, but I've found being in familiar places and seeing familiar people has been good for my heart and my mind. I'm feeling more calm somehow.

Monday #89: Washington, D.C., United States
September 6, 2010 back home in my room in Washington, D.C.
Kept meaning to take a photo earlier in the day, but forgot until I was home doing school-related stuff. So here I am. Unpacked and moved back in. Keep finding things I don't know what to do with, like old CDs and the key to my car that was totaled by a D.C. garbage truck last year. I can't seem to convince myself to throw these things away, but where do I put them?

Monday #88: Chicago, United States
August 30, 2010 in Jean's yard in Chicago, Illinois. Monday Photo guest appearance by Joy.
Three days in Ann Arbor, then the weekend in Chicago for my sister Megan's engagement party. A few more days here and I'm headed home.
Today had lunch with my friend Dan at Big Star in Wicker Park. Fabulous. And Dan's good company, too. Spent the afternoon hanging out with my sister Jean and her sweet dog Joy in the backyard of her house in Humboldt Park. It wasn't easy to get Joy in the picture, but we finally managed.

Monday #87: Chicago, United States
August 23, 2010 on the Metra train at the Western Ave. stop in Chicago, Illinois.
Back in Chicago after a week out at Uncle Stew's lake house. Today took the train out to Northbrook to visit with Aimee and her now two-year-old son, Jonah. Visited the Botanical Gardens, had lunch, chatted while Jonah napped. Got back to Chicago, went to the gym and then got dinner with Jean and her boyfriend. Just nice to see Chicago friends, relax and have some time to chill in the city.

Monday #86: Culver, Indiana, United States
August 16, 2010 at Uncle Stew's house on Lake Maxinkuckee in Culver, Indiana. Monday Photo guest appearance by Jean, who turned 26 today!
This past weekend Stew hosted "Roberts Weekend" at his lake house. At one point 27 people were sleeping in the house. Lots of games (mafia, Risk, Hearts, Euchre), lots of time on the lake (water-skiing, tubing, swimming), but the highlight was probably dancing in the living room with my 26-year-old sister and our six-year-old cousin.

Monday #85: Honolulu, Hawaii, United States
August 9, 2010 at the Broder Van Dykes' house on Tantalus in Honolulu, Hawaii. Monday Photo guest appearances by Jesse and Kris.
Just got back from sailing for nine days with Tracy and her dad. This Monday I did a workout at Crossfit Oahu (rough after a week off, drinking and eating poorly), spent some time at Starbucks working on a chapter my professor and I co-authored, then met up with Kris for dinner and drove up to Tantalus to see Jesse, who was in town from D.C. with the senator. His parents own a great property up there and we sat and watched the sun set and the sky darken. I was very simply happy.
